   Nona, daughter of John Richard and Elizabeth (Chaloupka) Ermeling, was born May 30, 1909, in rural Jamaica, Iowa.  She died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Panora Nursing and Rehab Center in Panora, Iowa at the age of 98.  She attended rural schools in the Bayard, Cooper, and Jamaica area.

    On October 18, 1936, she was united in marriage with Floyd Hermanson in Bayard.  Following marriage they farmed southeast of Bayard until 1960.  They spent several years managing the Audubon County Farm in Audubon and a Custodial Home in Creston.  They moved to Perry where she cooked for several restaurants.  They retired and moved to Bayard in 1980.  She was very active in the Washington Chapel Church of Christ in Perry and most recently the Church of Christ in Bayard.  Elizabeth enjoyed fishing, spending time with and cooking for family and friends.

    Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Floyd in 1985; brothers: Harold and Homer Ermeling; sisters: Iris Ermeling, Gladys Morlan, and Ethel Godwin; great grandson Zachary Rex.       

    Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Audrie and husband Wayne Conaway of Butler, Missouri; her son Ronald Stewart of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren; brother-in-law Dick Godwin; sister-in-law Lillian Hermansen; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
