Edna Frances, daughter of Frank and Agnes (Wernimont) Ludwig was born June 17, 1924 in rural Sac County, Iowa. She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Schools and later stayed home to help work on the farm. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the accordion in a band with her brothers and sister.

On April 8, 1947 Edna was united in marriage with Bernard Butch? Greving at Mt. Carmel, Iowa. Three sons were born into this union and the family made their home on a farm near Willey in Carroll County. In addition to working as a homemaker, Edna helped care for and do housework for elderly friends and neighbors. In 1972 Edna and Butch moved to Carroll.

Edna was a member of the Holy Spirit Womens Guild.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, music, and taking bus trips to various sites across the country.

Edna died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on October 2, 2008. She was 84 years, 3 months and 15 days of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Edwin Ludwig, Leo Ludwig, Wilmer Ludwig and wife Loretta and Lenus Ludwig; sisters Florentine and husband Harlan Cates and Marita Ludwig; and daughter-in-law Patricia A. Greving.

Edna is survived by her husband Butch Greving of Carroll; sons: Frank J. Greving and wife Carol of Carroll; Duane F. Greving and wife Sue of Carroll and Melvin E. Greving and wife Pamela of Lake View; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Ann Danner of Carroll; Joyce Ludwig of Minnesota; Kay Ludwig of Wisconsin; and Marilyn Ludwig of Lake City; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
