Edmund B. Ed?, son of Ben and Amelia (Miller) Riesberg was born April 25, 1919 at Roselle, Iowa. He attended Holy Angels School and then began working on the family farm.        On August 11, 1942 Ed enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Philippines during Word War II where he specialized in anti-aircraft artillery.  Upon his discharge he returned home and continued to farm.   After the death of his parents, Ed and his sister Irene purchased the family farm.  The farm later achieved the status of a Century Farm for staying in the family for 100 years.  Ed retired in 1980 and moved to Carroll.     In his spare time Ed enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing stories about his military experiences. He also loved driving new cars.     In 2004 Ed became a resident of Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll. On October 8, 2008, he died there at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 13 days.    Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Herbert Riesberg, William Riesberg, Albert Riesberg at infancy; sisters Irene Riesberg and Laura Hoffman; sister-in-law Mary Riesberg and brothers-in-law: Andrew Hoffman, Merle Heider, Ted Langel, and Alfred Weitl.     He is survived by sisters: Ella Weitl of Templeton, Hilda Heider of Humboldt and Clara Bonnie? Langel of Carroll; sister-in-law Marie Riesberg of Carroll; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
