   Duane, son of Gould and Faye (Potts) Lasher, was born September 1, 1932, at Lake City, Iowa. He grew up in Lake City, graduating from Lake City High School in 1950.

   On April 19, 1954, Duane was united in marraige with Lucille Kasperbauer at St. Peter and Paul's Church in Carroll by Rev. Nicholas Ruba. Duane owned and operated the Carroll Cab Company.

   Duane's wife died in 1985 and he continued to live in Carroll. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and general outdoor activities. Duane died at his home in Carroll on August 27, 2007 of an apparent heart condition.

   Besides his wife, Duane is preceded in death by a daughter Mary Lasher at infancy; his parents and parents-in-law Otto and Rose (Hoffman) Kasperbauer; two sisters Pat Hoke and Donna Stewart; and brother Warren Dale Lasher at infancy.

  He is survived by three sons: Michael Laher and wife Cindy of Yudon, OK; Patirck Lasher and wife Angela of Morgan, VT and Steven Lasher and girl friend Jeana Ulmer of Glidden; daughter Michelle and husband Roger Tapps of Coon Rapids; nine grandchildren; sister Neva Chambers of Prairie City; and brother-in-law Jack Stewart of Carroll.
