Diane (Rohe) Teno

February 20, 1965 — January 11, 2025

Norwalk

Diane Kay, daughter of Gene and Leona Rohe, was born on February 20, 1965, in Manning, Iowa. She graduated from Manning High School in 1983 and went on to earn a degree in computer science and mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University.

On June 3, 1989, Diane married the love of her life, Kevin Teno, at Sacred Heart Church in Manning. They began their life together in the Des Moines area before making homes in Sioux Rapids and Creston, Iowa, and eventually settling in Norwalk. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, spanning 35 beautiful years.

Diane built a fulfilling career, working as a computer software analyst, city clerk, and human resources coordinator. While she took immense pride in her professional achievements, Diane’s true passions extended far beyond her work. She was a gifted musician, playing the flute throughout her high school and college years and later performing in her church. One of the highlights of her musical journey was a month-long European band tour, where she performed across France, Spain, and Italy.

Her love for travel became a lifelong joy, especially as she embarked on yearly trips with her two children. Among her favorite destinations were New York City, Hawaii, and most recently, Alaska. Above all, Diane cherished time spent with her family and friends, creating a lifetime of treasured memories.

During her year-long journey with glioblastoma, Diane embraced life with incredible courage and grace, living each day to the fullest. Diane passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 59. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Leona Rohe; her brothers, Mike Rohe and Merlin Rohe; and her brother-in-law, Charles Erlbacher.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Kevin Teno of Norwalk; daughter, Kenzie Teno of West Des Moines and son, Brandon (Sadie) Teno of New Virginia; two sisters, Mary Lou (Steve) Wieland of Westside and Doris Erlbacher of Dow City; two brothers, Keith Rohe of Templeton and Kenny Rohe of Manning; sister-in-law, Mary Rohe of Manning; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
