Dennis Paul, son of Harvey and Delores (Terwilleger) Christensen, was born on March 27, 1947, at Manilla, Iowa.  He attended school in Manilla and graduated from Manilla High School in 1965.  Dennis served in the United States Army in Korea from 1966-68.  When he was discharged, he returned to Manilla to help run the family business, Harveys Oil Company.  He worked as a mechanic there until his health forced his retirement in May of 2008.

Dennis was united in marriage with Manilla school teacher Rhonda Crocker on June 11, 1971, at Denison, Iowa.  Two children, Chad and Beth, were born to this union.  In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed working in his yard and tending the flowers.  He was also interested in model trains and woodworking.  Most of all Dennis loved when his children and grandchildren returned for a visit.

After a short stay at the Manning Regional Healthcare Center in Manning, Iowa, Dennis died there on Friday, July 25, 2008, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 28 days.

Dennis is preceded in death by his grandparents and his father Harvey Christensen in 2005.

He is survived by his wife Rhonda Christensen of Manilla; son Chad Christensen and wife Dawn of Grimes and their daughters, Katie and Mya; daughter Beth and husband Jeremy Lyddon of Urbandale and their daughter, Addison; mother Delores Christensen of Manilla; siblings: Leslee and husband Craig Grau of Verona, WI; Barry Christensen and wife Kim of Manilla; Susan Christensen of Denison; and Shannon and husband Bill Rogge of Manilla; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
