     Delbert Ivan Stinger? Lengeling, son of Joseph and Josephine (Olberding) Lengeling was born on April 25, 1921 at Breda, Iowa. He attended St. Bernards School, graduating in 1939. After his schooling he continued working on his familys farm near Breda.      On Jun 18, 1946, Delbert was united in marriage with Madeline Larson at St. Bernards in Breda.  The family continued to farm until 1962, when Delbert and Madeline moved to Carroll and Delbert began working for Carroll Lumber. In 1974, Delbert retired and started working part-time for the Carroll Municipal Golf Course.      He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Carroll Knights of Columbus. Delbert enjoyed playing cards, listening to high school sports on the radio, and spending time with his family.      After the death of his wife, Madeline, in 2006, Delbert in continued to live at his home in Carroll until 2008, when he moved to the Carroll Health Center.  On August 2, 2009 he was taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, where he died on August 3rd at the age of 88 years, 3 months, and 13 days.      Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Madeline, son Robert Lengeling in 2006; brothers: Vincent, Cyril, Irwin and Delmar Lengeling; and sisters Lorene Womer and Imelda Thams.     He is survived by his children Judy Coffman of Omaha, NE; Ron Lengeling and wife Vicki of Carroll; Mark Lengeling of Carroll;  and Tom Lengeling of Freemont, NE; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Nadine Lengeling of Carroll; sisters-in-law: Margarite Lengeling of Denison and Jean Lengeling of Collins; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
