David Lee, son of Emery and Ruby (Holmes) Christoffersen, was born July 13, 1956 at the hospital in Audubon, Iowa.  He graduated from Dow City High School and Iowa State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Following college he worked in the oil fields for Ingersoll Rand, primarily in Oklahoma.

On March 12, 1988, David was united in marriage with Karen Henshaw at Houston, TX.  David was living in Kimballton, Iowa, at the time where he owned and operated Dave’s Overhaul Shop and also farmed with his father.  He then worked for Paxton Mitchell and Industrial Electric Reel, both in Omaha, Nebraska. Most recently David worked for Diesel Power Equipment Co of Omaha.

David owned 13 tractors and was always tinkering with anything with an engine.  With his father he designed and built scale models of vintage machinery.  David enjoyed science fiction, especially Star Trek and Star Wars.  He was a devout Christian who valued and loved his family.

As a child David fought Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and it resulted in heart health issues later in life.  He entered Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for a pacemaker and other treatments in December of 2014. Then again in October of 2015 for a follow up procedure that caused complications. David died there on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 3 days.
