L. Corrine, daughter of Obert and Sophia (Christian) Wiltsie, was born August 20, 1927, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines and studied art and music at Drake University. As a teenager Corrine worked as a model for Younker's department store. Later she worked in the art department at Plumb's Jewelry. She sang for the soldiers at Ft. Des Moines as well. While studying at Drake, Corrine met Samuel Cretsinger and they were united in marriage in November of 1948 at the University Christian Church. Three sons were born to this union. The couple moved to Sam's homeplace south of Coon Rapids in Guthrie County and farmed until 1977 before moving to Coon Rapids. Corrine worked as a volunteer art teacher at the local high school. She was also the site manager for congregate meals for many years until her retirement in 2004. Corrine was actively involved in the First Christian Church, PEO and Needle Club. She and Sam sang duets for many weddings and funerals over the years. Corrine enjoyed crocheting and knitting, traveling and reading during her spare time. When her health began to fail Corrine moved to the Thomas Rest Haven nursing home in Coon Rapids in September 2014. She died there on Monday, August 24, 2015, at the age of 88 years and 4 days.
