Clarence Butch? Humlicek Sr., son of Peter and Emma (Moravec) Humlicek was born April 6, 1928, at Linwood, Nebraska.  His family later moved to Carroll, Iowa where he attended Carroll High School.

    On February 28, 1949, Butch was united in marriage with Laura Mae Schieffer at St. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll, Iowa. For over fifty years Butch owned and operated Carroll Upholstery Shop in Carroll.

    In his spare time Butch enjoyed socializing with family and friends, spending time at Swan Lake State Park, yard work, sitting on his backyard swing, camping, and fishing. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church, President of the Manning Bridge Club and Senior Executive of the Weenie Roast Group.

   Butch died on December 28, 2007, at his home in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 22 days.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Pete and Milo Humlicek; sister Alyce Humlicek; and infant son David Humlicek.

    Butch is survived by his wife Laura Humlicek of Carroll; daughter Diane and husband Nick Badding of Carroll; five sons: Michael Humlicek and wife Caroline of Carroll; Butch Humlicek Jr. and wife Vicki of Carroll; Ken Humlicek and wife Linda of Des Moines; Tim Humlicek and wife Lynda of Ames; and Tom Humlicek and wife Gina of Kaiser, MO; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
