Cherryl Jean, daughter of Albert and Goldie (Wolfe) Anderson, was born January 24, 1948, at the Greene County Hospital in Jefferson, Iowa. She was baptized May 29, 1968 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Cherryl attended elementary school in Bagley, then worked at Dairy Sweet and graduated from Madrid High School in 1966. Cherryl then earned her LPN Degree at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Carroll in 1967.
On February 9, 1968, Cherryl was united in marriage with Kenneth Boell at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Six children were born to this marriage. The couple farmed near Manilla and Cherryl worked as an LPN at St. Anthony’s Hospital and Nursing Home in Carroll.
Cherryl enjoyed sewing, beading jewelry and making crafts for friends and family; always sending special packages in the mail to her kids and grandkids. Cherryl and Kenny valued their time together dancing at the Five Mile House and Lincoln Club. She cherished her years as a homemaker and raising her family on the farm. Cherryl belonged to the Friendly Farmers Club of Manilla.
In 2005 Cherryl moved to the Manning Plaza Nursing Home in Manning. She thrived at the Plaza, making many friends and enjoyed all the outings and activities. She considered the residents and staff her extended family and her home away from the farm. Cherryl died there on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 1 week.
She was preceded in death by her father Albert Anderson.
Cherryl is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Kenneth Boell of Manilla; six children: Lisa (Arnold) Swanson of Council Bluffs; James Boell, Marcy Boell and Curtis Boell, all of Harlan; Angie (David) Voyna of Grimes; and Kenneth Jr. (Jen) Boell of Manilla; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 more on the way; her mother Goldie Anderson of Nevada; brother Jerry (Allison) Anderson of Ames; brother-in-law Richard Boell of Denison; sister-in-law Ella Mae Muenchow of Arcadia; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
