William Timm "Bill", son of Raymond and Thelma Elizabeth (Timm) Hutchinson, was born December 17, 1943, in Akron, OH. The family soon moved to Glendale, CA, where Bill would graduate from high school. On January 30, 1965, Bill was united in marriage with Vera Loraine Bayley. Two daughters were born to this union and the family made their home in southern California, mainly Lake Forest. Bill worked in a paper mill, the City of San Gabriel water treatment plant and managed a truck rental company. He then began a career as an agent for Farmer's Insurance. Following a move to Scottsdale, AZ Bill was a state/regional manager for CSE Insurance, and then resumed his work as an agent for Farmer's Insurance in Arizona and California. Bill fought lung cancer in 1991 and, against all odds, was declared cancer-free. After his retirement in 1994, he and Vera lived in Oregon and Idaho. Twice they have returned to Manilla, IA, to bring their family together - when their daughter Lisa was ill and when Bill was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2012. Bill often said, "Live for the day," and that is how he lived his life. His family was of paramount importance to him, and he loved to camp and boat with them. Bill was a member of the Old Mission Church in San Juan Capistrano and founding member of St. Patrick's Church in Scottsdale, AZ. For many years he golfed every Wednesday with his friends. Bill also enjoyed watching car racing and golfing. He was a strong supporter of the NRA and active in the Tea Party in Idaho. Due to complications from recent cancer treatment, Bill entered the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, on Saturday, July 7, 2012. He died suddenly and unexpectedly later that same day at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 20 days. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Brandon Peirce Greenawalt in 1994 and daughter Lisa Loraine Hutchinson-Wilson in 2001. He is survived by his wife Vera Hutchinson of Manilla; daughter Dawn Brandt (Dave) of Manilla; five grandchildren: Bayley, Mackinze and Colten Brandt; and Kaitlyn and Nathan Wilson of Wickenburg, AZ; sister-in-law Kathie Neher (Mike) of Post Falls, ID; nieces, nephews and many good friends who were like family.
