Beverly Anne Vietz

Funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla, where her family will greet friends after 10 am. Burial will take place at a later date in the Vietz Family Cemetery at McClusky, North Dakota.

Beverly Anne Vietz, daughter of Marie Helen (Gouldy) and Willard Yabsley, was born July 17, 1942, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She grew up in Greenwood, Nebraska and attended all her schooling in Ashland, Nebraska. After high school, she married Art Rimpley with whom they had three sons; Tony, Gene, and Jeff Rimpley. A few years later they were divorced and Beverly met Melvin Vietz. 

On April 9, 1968, Beverly was united in marriage with Melvin Marvin Vietz in Mandan, North Dakota. In 1969 they bought a home in Mandan and daughter Brenda Jo Vietz was born. In 1982 Beverly went back to college and earned her dietary technician license. She then worked in nursing homes for a while before moving to Kansas City to work in big hospitals. Beverly and Melvin moved into a trailer in Lincoln, Nebraska where they lived for many years. In the summer of 2015, Melvin and Beverly moved to Manilla, Iowa to be closer to their daughter. 

Beverly suffered a stroke on April 14, 2018, which lead to her moving into Accura Healthcare in Carroll, Iowa. On Thursday, February 8, 2024, Beverly passed away at Accura HealthCare of Carroll, Iowa, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin Vietz in 2019, sister Gloria Peterson, son Jeff Rimpley and stepson Cleon Vietz. 

She is survived by her two sons: Tony (Shirley) Rimpley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Gene (Patti) Rimpley of Oklahoma; daughter Brenda (Gerald) Swanson of Manilla, Iowa; stepson Mylo Vietz of Texas; sister Helen Crockett of Greenwood, Nebraska; brother Lee Yabsley of Oklahoma; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
