Betty Klocke

March 17, 1929 — February 12, 2015

Betty Margaret, daughter of Anton and Martha (Maur) Goetzinger, was born March 17, 1929, at Dedham, IA. She attended school in the Dedham and Carroll communities. On November 9, 1946 Betty was united in marriage with Myron John Klocke at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Omaha, NE. Four children were born to this union and the family made their home in Carroll, IA. Through the years Betty worked at St. Anthony Hospital, The Brown Derby restaurant and as a meter maid for the City of Carroll. She retired from city employment after more than 20 years. Betty was a member of St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. She was interested in researching her family's genealogy and completing challenging jigsaw puzzles. Betty and Mryon enjoyed photography and gardening together. Betty was a faithful caretaker for her husband in his later years. Following Myron's death in 2007 Betty lived in their home for several more years before entering nursing care. She died at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 26 days. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband Myron Klocke; granddaughter Jodie Klocke; brothers Elmer and Delbert Goetzinger and sister Jeannette Hagedorn. She is survived by her children: Dick Klocke (Betty), Marshalltown; Gary Klocke (Janis), Carroll; Dennis Klocke (Lori), Plainfield; and Cindy Klocke (Dale Schechinger), Lake View; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; twin brother Bill Goetzinger (Lorraine), Council Bluffs; sister Darlene Hachett, Des Moines ;other relatives and friends.
