Barry Lee, son of Cyril John and Glenna (Gettler) Heiderscheit, was born November 16, 1961, at Carroll, Iowa. He was one of ten Heiderscheit children and grew up with his family in Coon Rapids, Iowa. Barry attended school there, graduating with the Class of 1980.
After completing his education, he worked around Coon Rapids. He then moved to Texas and worked in the oil fields before moving to Las Vegas. He became a member of the concrete union, working on large projects there. One of those projects was the Jack Nicholas Lake of Las Vegas Golf Course. Barry moved back to Coon Rapids in 1997 and continued to work in the concrete industry, initially in Des Moines. In 2002 he started his own business in Coon Rapids TAB Concrete Specialists with two partners, his brother Alan Heiderscheit and friend Tim Lee.
Late in 2003, Barry met the love of his life April Hofbauer. One son was born to that union and Aprils daughter Alaya gained a little brother. They were a very contented family, spending most of their time together doing special projects or absolutely doing nothing. Many people remember Barry driving around town with his son Gavin. Over the years, Barry thoroughly enjoyed the game of golf and made many golfing friends around the area. He also enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, hunting and a good game of horseshoes. However the greatest joy in his life was his family " April, Gavin and Alaya.
Barry died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, January 12, 2009, at the emergency room at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. He was 47 years, 1 month and 27 days of age.
