            Barbara was born April 17, 1941 in Carroll, Iowa to A.J. and Elizabeth (Schwenk) Carlson.  She died Tuesday evening October 23, 2007 at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.

            Barbara graduated from Kuemper High School in Carroll and worked for many years for the Telephone Company in Carroll.  She also had her own baking service for families in the Carroll area.  She worked for many years with her daughter Gina at Enchanted Gardens in Carroll.  The most important people in her life were her many family and friends who knew her as Nana?.

            On December 17, 1960 she married Ralph Venteicher in Omaha, Nebraska.

            She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ralph Venteicher in 2006.

            She is survived by her daughters Gina Bauck and fianc Coy Butner of Carroll, Jennifer (Jordan) Venteicher of Des Moines, Iowa; son Jeff Venteicher of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters Jeannie Woederhoff and husband Jim of Bridgman, Michigan, Christine Martin, Julie Carlson, Maria Ranta all of Olympia,Washington; brothers Jim Carlson, Steve Carlson, Denny Carlson, Doug Carlson, and Mike Carlson all of Olympia, Washington; four grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews;
