Arlene Leona, daughter of William F. and Ida Sophia (Arndt) Lueth, was born June 24, 1918, near Manilla in Crawford County, IA.  She attended school in Manilla, graduating from Manilla High School in 1936.  After completing her education Arlene worked as a secretary for various businesses in Manilla and Manning.  She worked on her familys farm for two years while her brothers were away fighting in World War II.  Arlene also served as assistant city clerk in Manilla for four years.

On December 12, 1944, Arlene was united in marriage with Amos Gustavus Justice at the Presbyterian Church in Manilla.  Two children were born to this union.  The couple made their home in Bremerton, WA for two years and Arlene worked as a secretary for a funeral home there.  In 1947 the couple moved back to Manilla where Arlene was a homemaker and a secretary for a variety of businesses.  She was very involved with her childrens activities and served as both 4-H and Cub Scout leader.  The family moved to Jefferson in 1975, then Arkansas in 1979 to retire.  They returned to Iowa in 1994 and settled in Carroll. Amos died on April 21, 2003 and early the next year Arlene moved to Rogers, AK, to be near her daughter.

Arlene was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served as the churchs secretary.  She enjoyed ceramics, counted cross-stitch and other hobbies.
