Anita Ann, daughter of Theodore and Emma (Soppe) Buelt, was born at home in Roselle, Iowa, on March 28, 1918.  She attended Holy Angels School in Roselle through the eighth grade.  After her schooling she began doing housework for families in the area.

On May 2, 1939, Anita was united in marriage with Elmer R. Schroer at Holy Angels Church in Roselle.  Five children were born to this union.  Anita was a busy homemaker and helped in many ways on their farm west of Carroll. She was a member of St. Francis Church in Maple River and active in the Ladies Guild.  Anita enjoyed her farm cats, gardening and baking.  Most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

When Elmer died in 1991, Anita continued to live in their home until moving to the Swan House in Carroll in February of 2003.  She died there on Thursday, November 7, 2007, at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; son Gerald Schroer in 1950; and seven brothers and sisters.

Anita is survived by her children: Jerome Schroer and wife Mary of Albuquerque, NM; Ronald Schroer and wife Jane of Sun City, TX; Gary Schroer and wife Cindy of Omaha, NE; Joleen and husband Bob Fasbender of Carroll; grandchildren: Tricia and husband Michael Kennedy; Brett Schroer;and Brian Fasbender; great-granddaughter Ravyn Fasbender; sisters Louise Eich of Hayfield, MN and Bernice Hinz of Fonda; brother Eugene Buelt and wife Marie of Council Bluffs; other relatives and friends.
