Amy Johanna, daughter of Niels Helmuth and Ethel Lucille (Covault) Larsen was born January 31, 1934 on the family farm east of Hamlin, Iowa.  She attended Audubon Schools and graduated in 1952.

On September 7, 1952 Amy was united in marriage with Ivan B. Christensen at Audubon. They made their home wherever Ivan was stationed during his time in the U.S. Army. After his discharge they lived at various places, including Audubon, Manilla and Guthrie Center. They settled in Elk Horn in 2003, near both of their hometowns. Amy was primarily a homemaker and mother of their four sons. She was a great cook and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing cards. Of utmost importance to her was her family. Amy was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton and W.E.L.C.A.

On the morning of February 28, 2008, she became ill and was taken to Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic where she died at the age of 74 years and 28 days.   Amy was preceded in death by her parents; two sons David Lee Christensen in 1991 and Todd Eric Christensen in 1996; and her brother Harry Larsen in 1986.

Amy is survived by her husband Ivan Christensen of Elk Horn; two sons Michael Christensen and wife Rita of Dunlap and Jamie Christensen and friend Micki of Redfield; two daughters-in-law Brenda Christensen of St Ansgar and Vinona Mac? Christensen of Noblesville, IN; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters Norma and husband Wayne Hansen and Sharlene and husband LeRoy Merk all of Audubon; brother Burl Larsen and wife Eva of Brownsville, Indiana; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
