Alice Lengemann

   Alice Marie, daughter of Albert and Lena (Broich) Beyerink was born April 19, 1930 at Old Carrollton, Iowa.  She attended school through the 8th grade at the Willey School.  After Alice completed schooling, she was a “farm girl” and she helped her mother wallpaper area family homes.    On January 19, 1949 Alice was united in marriage to Carl Lengemann in Coon Rapids.  From this union two children were born.  After their marriage Alice continued to help wallpaper homes.   She cleaned houses for about 60 years in her community and was employed by the Julia Chrystal family.  Alice was a very hard worker.  She would help anyone in the community that needed help.    Alice had many hobbies which included crocheting doilies, making braided rugs and quilting.  She donated her handmade items to the Ronald McDonald Organization, Homeless of Iowa City, Iowa Preemie Project, girl’s orphanage in Kenya, Africa and to the Indian Reservation of South Dakota.  Alice made homemade noodles and pickles and loved to grow vegetables and flowers in her garden. She was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church parish and guild.    Alice died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Manning Regional Healthcare Center at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 3 days.    Preceding her in death are her husband Carl Lengemann on May 11, 1990; parents Albert and Lena; sisters Louise Behrens and Evelyn Gute; granddaughter Kelly Jo Lengemann and great grandson Samuel Olson.    Alice is survived by her children Diane (Robb) Olson of Columbus Junction, IA and Dale (Judy) Lengemann of Coon Rapids; grandchildren Rachel Olson Rees of Columbus Junction, Ryan (Jenny) Olson of Iowa City, Renae Olson Evans of Iowa City, Jason (Keri) Lengemann of Bruce Springs, MO and Jessica (Dave) Trecker of Churdan; step grandchildren Marty and Jeff Riesberg; great grandchildren Erik and Evan Rees; Henry and Charlie Olson; Lena, Zella and Viola Evans; Tyler, Madison and Emma Lengemann and Gavin and Lily Trecker; sister Darlene Lloyd of Coon Rapids; brothers Ralph (Lois) Beyerink of Roselle, Ronnie (Dorothy) Beyerink of Coon Rapids, Paul Beyerink of Coon Rapids and other relatives and friends.
